Mull and Iona abound with wildlife watching opportunities. Sea Eagles, puffins, otters, whales, dolphins, deer and seals are only a small part of what makes the “Wild Isles” a must for the wildlife enthusiast.
2008 is the sixth year of Wild Isles and its popularity reflects Mull and Iona’s increasing reputation as one of the UK’s top wildlife destinations. Media coverage of the islands’ wildlife over the past few years has been unprecedented, featuring in several BBC programmes including the documentary ‘Eagle Island’.
Fellow wildlife cameraman Simon King was impressed by the island whilst filming in 2005,
“While presenting last year’s ‘Springwatch’ from Mull, I was struck by the incredible richness of Mull’s landscapes and wildlife. The sea eagles may be the icing on the cake, but there is also so much more to see and do, especially during ‘Wild Isles 2006’.
